SOLSTICE CEREMONY

The ancient Andeans observed that during the time of the Winter Solstice, the Sun, luminous Tayta Inti, was so far away from them, that needed to be call back, Inti was at its weakest and needed the love, support and gratitude of the runas (human beings) in other words, the principle of Ayni needed to be applied So, the Inti Raymi fiesta was celebrated with bonfires, music, rituals, and plenty chicha (maize brew) to share with the Father Sun.
The reason Inti Raymi is celebrated at sunrise on the winter solstice in the southern hemisphere is because Inti rises in perfect alignment with Orion constellation. Therefore, this magnificent constellation celebrates Inti as well. There was, and there is, perfect reciprocity between the humans and the stars.

De uråldriga Anderna konstaterade att under vintersolståndet var solen, självlysande Tayta Inti, så långt borta från dem, som behövde ringa tillbaka, Inti var som svagast och behövde runas kärlek, stöd och tacksamhet (människor) med andra ord, principen om Ayni behövde appliceras. Så firades Inti Raymifiesta med brasor, musik, ritualer och mycket chicha (majsbrygga) att dela med Fadernsolen.
Anledningen till att Inti Raymi firas vid soluppgången på vintersolståndet på södra halvklotet beror på att Inti stiger i perfekt anpassning till Orion konstellation. Därför firar denna magnifika konstellation Inti också. Det fanns, och det finns, perfekt ömsesidighet mellan människorna och stjärnorna.
